The purpose of the resolution is to demonstrate to the county that the majority of FCPS PTA/ PTOs want better food in our school system. It takes time for our team to get on those PTA calendars, present the resolution, answer questions and secure adoption from each group but we've yet to be turned down and we're committed to contacting every school PTA eventually.
Has your school PTA/PTSA/PTO been contacted by Real Food For Kids? Please contact us. We can come to your school to present the RFFK resolution and tell you about our current progress in our movement. Our goal is to create awareness and gain support. Your help can make these changes happen.
What is the Real Food For Kids' Resolution? Here is a sample. Just put in your school's PTA/PTSA/PTO name. Click here if you want the resolution in Spanish or Vietnamese.

Improve School Food at Fairfax County Public Schools
health, nutrition, and education of our children is of highest concern to the
citizens of Fairfax County; and
providing more nutritious foods to children has received national attention
from First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move Campaign; and
school food today is made up of highly processed products that are dyed,
artificially flavored, preserved, and flavor enhanced, using petroleum based
chemicals found in plastics and pesticides; and
bottled water costs a dollar, and cups of water are not available;
these artificial additives can negatively impact childhood behavior and
learning, including the following issues: obesity, diabetes, hyperactivity,
developmental delays, ability to focus, asthma, depression, mood/irritability,
violent behavior; and
serving real food can impact our children's success by a) increasing academic
performance, b) lowering weight and rates of obesity, c) improving behavior,
and d) reducing special education needs/costs; and
did not cost Fairfax County any additional funds when it successfully
eliminated artificial ingredients and harmful additives from school food in the
1980's; now, therefore, be it
That the *INSERT SCHOOL NAME PTA/PTSA
