Student Nutrition Advisory Council

The Student Nutrition Advisory Council (SNAC) is Real Food for Kids’ student voice. SNAC engages students to advocate for and advance health initiatives within schools. SNAC is overseen by the student representative to Real Food for Kids’ board of directors.

In recent years, SNAC led a survey of student opinions of school food and successfully advocated for a build-a-bowl pilot in Fairfax County that drew rave reviews from students and faculty alike. SNAC has been instrumental in transmitting student feedback, ideas, and concerns to school district officials.
