Better Ingredients

Thanks to the work of Real Food For Kids in collaboration with the Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) Superintendent Nutrition Task Force and the Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) department, over 90% of harmful, artificial ingredients have been removed from the school lunches. FCPS FNS continues to work with manufacturers and suppliers to develop and provide products without artificial flavors, artificial colors, food dyes, Butylated Hydroxyanisole (BHA), Butylated Hydroxytoluene (BHT), Tertiary Butylhydroquinone (TBHQ), Monosodium Glutamate (MSG), High Fructose Corn Syrup, Potassium Bromate, and Sodium Benzoate.
